laatste wijzigingen 5 juli 2026 – Disclaimer – English version below

English version

Smoke detectors are officially required in at least one room of every apartment. The smoke detectors installed upon completion of the Cooltoren are of the Fire Angel CW1 type, which:

The smoke detectors operate stand-alone, meaning they are not connected to the general alarm systems of the Cooltoren or the fire department. The owners may also install other smoke detectors, provided they meet the legal requirements.

Replacing the battery of the Fire Angel CW1

If the smoke detector beeps every 35 seconds and the red LED flashes, that is the signal to replace the 9V backup battery. This is necessary approximately once a year.

  • Turn off the power in the fuse box. Turn the smoke detector from the mounting plate on the ceiling.
  • Disconnect the 230V connector from the smoke detector; to do this, squeeze the 230V connector on both sides.
  • Remove the 9V block battery and replace it with a new one; pay attention to the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
  • Reconnect the 230V connector.
  • Turn the smoke detector back onto its mounting plate.
  • Reconnect the power in the fuse box.
  • The green LED is now lit, and the red LED also flashes every 40 seconds.
  • Test the smoke detector by pressing and holding the test/pause button on the smoke detector until the alarm sounds. This stops after a few seconds.
