With the green handles in the correct position, a blue ring visible on the actuators, and the thermostatic valves set properly, water should flow from the delivery unit to the underfloor‑heating manifold. You can now check the temperature of the water that is supplied from the Eneco ATES to your delivery unit. Feel whether the metal parts of the pipes with the black insulation feel cool or cold (between 13 and 18º C). The pipe located on the ‘inside’ is the supply line and should be coldest. The pipe located on the ‘outside’ is the return line. That line will be a few degrees warmer.
Yes → Check flow in manifold
No → There can be several reasons why the pipe does not feel cold/cool:
- The flow may be restricted because a valve has not opened. This can happen even if you see blue rings on the actuators and the thermostatic valves are in the correct position.
- There may be an outage at Eneco in the cooling supply to the Cooltoren.
- There may be an issue with a resident below you in the same line of meter cabinets, causing warm water to enter the cooling water.
- There may be a problem with venting the supply and return pipes in the meter cabinet.
- Water from the heating side of your delivery set can leak into the cooling circuit. You can check this yourself by feeling whether the white pipe below the red shut‑off valve is roughly at room temperature. If it is not, and the pipe is warm or even hot, temporarily close the red shut‑off valve.
